Isometric exercise is thousands of years old. So why haven't you heard of it? It seems that personal trainers and exercise gurus still want to keep this age old secret to themselves. It also seems that the majority of the public find it too difficult to believe that you could have a flatter stomach in just seconds a day or firm up all over in minutes a day, but with isometrics, it's absolutely true.
Isometrics is really nothing more than the body exerting force against a stationary object and holding the position for a minute or more. Sound too easy? Try pushing your palms together as hard as you can for one minute. By the end of the minute you are likely beginning to feel a warmth in the area of your biceps. You have just completed an isometric exercise. Pretty easy right? Imagine exercising your entire body as easily as this.
The great thing about isometric exercise is that you can do it anywhere and at anytime. There is no need for a costly gym membership or investment in a lot of fitness equipment that you will never use. The other great thing is that you can choose exactly which muscle you want to target. The longer that you hold an isometric exercise, the greater the workout your muscle is receiving. You are in control of the force that you exert on the muscle so you decide if the workout you do will be tough or easy. Isometrics and the results they bring are completely within your control.
